We have access to extensive medical literature in our library, through our computers, from nearby medical libraries, and through our relationships with medical experts in almost every specialty. In-depth analysis of the factual issues of a case may include retrieving  and referencing professional and technical literature, studying medical models or engineering diagrams, conferring with attorneys throughout the United States who are working on similar cases . In addition to physicians, we consult with experts in fields as diverse as mechanical engineering, architecture, and human factors engineering. Experts throughout the country are available to us as we are preparing the case.
Our greatest asset is the interaction among our own attorneys. We meet as an entire firm each week to review issues in our cases, giving the most difficult issues the benefit of input from many legal minds. When occasionally necessary, we may ask for additional input from large networks of attorneys to which we belong, such as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) or Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA). Mr. McMahan is a Tennessee State Delagate for ATLA and on the Board of Governors of TTLA.
